Yes, I’ve been gone (thanks for the emails).
I’ve got a backlog of issues, posts, news, updates – enough to keep me going for a couple weeks. I’ll be trying to catch-up as I juggle new developments on:
- This weekend’s ConvergeSouth unconference
- Carolina North and UNC’s Leadership Advisory group
- Updates on “Licensed for the Lawn”, “Madison: Smoozefest or Sleazefest”, “NextBus”
- Bolin Creek restoration efforts and Stormwater Utility updates
- The Downtown Parking task force (of which I’m a member)
- …and some old/new business on Austin’s SxSWi, old/new election news (including campaign reports), etc.
Oh, where did my family and I go?

Maine?
Absolutely Mark. The first picture is of a leaning building (still human-scale 😉 ) in Portland, the next series of the beautiful Monhegan Island, Maine, followed by the start of Fall’s color changes in New Hampshire.
BTW Mark, you might recognize my 9 year-old son E. scrambling up Gull Rock.
Nice pics. Glad you are back, love the pork post above.
Thanks Rob. I still have on my wish list of future posts a quick overview of the sites I use for investigating federal, state and local political issues AND my how to run an almost winning campaign for Council for $5000 less than the other guy ;-).
