Michael Everhart
Chair, Chapel Hill Planning Commission
Dear MIchael,
We know this is a very busy time of year, particularly for the Planning Commission. Nonetheless it’s essential for the Planning Commission to give each project the attention and careful review
it deserves.
We see a serious timing problem for the Aura proposal on your April 6th Planning Commission
agenda for
Tuesday. We just learned that Aura is last on a full agenda! Aura follows 2200 Homestead Road and University Place, among other important projects. Both Planning Commission members and the public need adequate time for review and comment. A project of
this consequence should not to be squeezed in at the end of a long meeting.
Given the great public interest in the Aura proposal, and the lnumber of concerned residents who may wish to speak, we request that Aura be moved to first or second place on the agenda.
Recently the Environmental Stewardship Board had a packed agenda and the meeting went very late with still more projects. The Board agreed to establish a special meeting to review the University
Place project in order to ensure a careful review. This is accepted practice as long as due notice is given.
Thank you for considering this request! Kindly forward this letter to your board.
