Hi Karen -- Your suggestion is well taken. I think the way Brian described the goals in his subsequent email should help focus things. The information gathering aspect of this meeting seems to tie directly to the modeling assumptions for the Town-wide model. At the moment nobody (including me!) seems quite sure what assumptions to use for the various undeveloped/semi-developed properties along N. Estes. Secondarily it would be great to brainstorm preliminary ideas about potential roadway configurations (driveway locations, signals), but as you say some options aren't going to be realistic or permissible. In short, my hope is that we can come away from the meeting with some specific (and actionable) modeling assumptions. Anything else would be a bonus.

Hi Brian,

The agenda looks fine to me. It will probably be helpful to define up front what you are hoping to accomplish in bringing this group together and especially have staff weighing in on what is realistic. I know often residents are hoping for outcomes that are not necessarily within the Town's control or allowed by State regs. It would be great if the discussion can lead to some concrete ideas for staff and Council consideration.

Best,

Karen

No worries at all, thanks in advance for the time. Let me know if you have any feedback on the agenda - I’m happy to adjust.

We have some ideas that we believe could better facilitate future development, but believe these solutions need to be thoroughly vetted with local stakeholders. We’d like to meet as a group to discuss the issues at hand in hopes of finding some common ground from which we can build solutions together.

We’ll circulate a proposed agenda ahead of time to ensure we are good stewards of your time. Town Council member Karen Stegman has agreed to co-facilitate this discussion with me. We will identify a member of town staff to help us with the conversation. We’re also trying to reach the owners of other to-be-developed parcels along Estes Drive.
